Unfortunately, because of the federal government shutdown, we must cancel our Sunday, 8 a.m., Bird Walks.
As of October 2, 2026, the federal government’s shutdown is affecting the National Park Service (NPS) and other agencies, including units of the George Washington Memorial Parkway like the Dyke Marsh Wildlife Preserve.
As of October 20, the Belle Haven Park parking lots are open.

The U.S. Park Police are excepted from the shutdown.
